What you are in fear of may actually be what protects you and who you believe is your enemy may be your guardian.

There is true story of visitors to the plains of Africa, that were excited to see lions up close. One night, a noise was heard in the distance…it was the sound of a lioness giving birth. Without much thought, the party dashed off in their off-road vehicle towards the sound.

As they got close to the pride of lions, their vehicle’s drive shaft got hung up on a tree log and the vehicle’s battery eventually died. While all this was happening, the lions surrounded them. During the panic, they were amazed to see an African woman carrying a baby and holding the hand of a little girl, emerging from the darkness and walking through the ring of lions to the disabled vehicle.

This woman turned out to be a shaman and had the ability to communicate with the lions. All were saved that night. In later conversations with the woman who “rescued” them, she stated that lions were there encircling them not to eventually attack them, but to PROTECT them.

Fear can be our indicator that something expansive is about to happen. Who we perceive as our enemy may be causing us to do something that couldn’t be done without their assistance and showing up in exactly the way they have.
